Freddie Highmore is an English actor born on 14 February 1992 in Camden Town, London. He first rose to prominence as a child actor, earning back-to-back Critics’ Choice Movie Awards for Best Young Performer for his roles in Finding Neverland (2004) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). He continued with leading film roles including The Spiderwick Chronicles, August Rush, and Astro Boy, before transitioning into adult dramatic television. From 2013 to 2017, he headlined as Norman Bates in Bates Motel, earning a People’s Choice Award and three Critics’ Choice Television Award nominations. He then starred as Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor from 2017 through 2024, receiving a Golden Globe nomination and serving as executive producer and director.
