Lisa Joy (born May 23, 1977) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and lawyer best known as the co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer of the HBO science-fiction series Westworld (2016–2022), one of the most discussed and ambitious dramas in contemporary television. With a career spanning comedy, crime drama, and science fiction, Joy has contributed to Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice, and Reminiscence, her 2021 feature film directorial debut. She has received multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Westworld and signed a landmark deal with Amazon in 2021 to develop and produce new series.
