William H. Macy is an American actor and filmmaker whose career spans stage, independent film, mainstream cinema, and long-running television. He has won two Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards, and has been nominated for an Academy Award and five Golden Globe Awards. Macy first gained prominence through his collaborations with playwright David Mamet, appearing in films including House of Games, Wag the Dog, and State and Main.
