Chad Michael Murray has shared that the decision to have a third child with his wife, Sarah Roemer, involved a collective family vote. The actor, speaking in a recent interview, explained that every family member, including their children, had to support the idea before they proceeded.
Son Initially Hesitant but Eventually Supportive
Murray revealed that their eldest son was resistant to the idea for quite some time.
“We weren’t going to have a third child unless everyone was on board, including the kids. And our son wasn’t on board for pretty much the entire time until finally, one day, he goes, ‘I’d like to have a baby in the family,’”
he said. The family celebrated his change of heart with delight.
“And we’re like, ‘Wow, look at that!’”
Murray added.
Growing Family Bonds and Sibling Connections
The couple married in 2015 and share two daughters born in 2017 and 2023. Their son, now integrated happily into the family dynamic, forms a close bond with their youngest daughter. Murray expressed pride in the sibling relationship, stating,
“He’s so good all the time with her, and they love each other so much. So that is their norm.”
Murray’s Personal Style and Upcoming Projects
During his Parade interview, Chad Michael Murray appeared relaxed in casual attire and explained his fondness for wearing pink, inspired by his two daughters.
“I have two little baby girls, so I’m always wearing pink. I can’t help it. … (It) puts me in a good mood. I love it. And the girls like it. So now we can match,”
he said. Murray is currently working on the upcoming film Freakier Friday, a sequel to the 2003 comedy Freaky Friday, starring alongside Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Influence of Father and Role Model Rex Murray
Murray also reflected on his upbringing by his father, Rex Murray, who raised him and his four siblings as a single parent.
“I wouldn’t have the life and the kids I have right now if it weren’t for my dad. He gave us the opportunity to have a chance in life, to go get a job, to live out our dreams, and I’m so grateful for that,”
he shared.
“He’s just got such a big selfless heart.”
Support and Connection Amidst Challenges
This year, amid the nearby Los Angeles wildfires, Murray’s father made a personal visit to offer comfort.
“He just popped in out of the blue, and he sat down, and he poured a bourbon … we sat and he said, ‘I thought you could use some company,’”
Murray recalled. He expressed his desire to emulate his father’s nurturing nature:
“I want to be that for the kids. I want to always be that loving, nurturing parent.”
