Sharon Stone revealed she has returned to wearing lady underwear after more than 25 years of choosing boxer shorts while raising her three sons. The actress, 67, shared this during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on August 13, coinciding with the promotion of her film Nobody 2. Stone discussed how her long years living in a male-dominated household influenced her wardrobe choices.
Life in a Male Household Shaped Her Style Choices
During the interview, Seth Meyers noted that Stone attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere on August 11 with her sons Roan, 25, Laird, 20, and Quinn, 19. Referring to a red carpet photo of the family, Meyers commented on the strong group of boys and Stone’s admission of having lived in what she termed a “stinky fraternity house.” Stone explained that she had been wearing boxer shorts because
“you do not wear lady panties when you have so many boys.”
She humorously described how motherhood transformed her style preferences, saying, “I’ve been wearing boxer shorts.” She also mentioned how raising three boys led her to feel like “a dude” for many years.
Rediscovering Her Feminine Side After Her Children Moved Away
Now that her sons have grown and moved out, Stone expressed excitement about reclaiming her femininity. She announced, “I’m back wearing lady underwear,” adding,
“I’m a girl again. I hope you notice. I feel really feminine again. I grew my hair back. It’s amazing!”
Her reflection was met with laughter and applause from the audience as she combed her hair back with her fingers, celebrating this new chapter in her personal style.

How Her Upbringing Supported Her Journey Through Motherhood
Stone also discussed how her middle-American upbringing in Meadville, Pennsylvania, grounded her through the challenges of raising her sons, especially as a single mother. She credited her values for helping her maintain sobriety and stability.
“I wouldn’t have survived [without the values],”
Stone said.
“I wouldn’t be a sober, healthy, working mom who was able to take three adopted kids — which is just different, let’s just say — and do it by myself with the help of wonderful nannies if I didn’t come from grounded, moral values.”
Reflections on Family Strength and Pride
Reflecting on the family’s experience, Stone shared how proud she felt seeing her sons together at the premiere.
“And then I see these pictures of them … All of us on the red carpet. I called them all last night, and we were all talking about it. And I just [told] each one of them how proud I was of them because I looked at them as individuals in that picture. Grounded, centered, handsome, organized. I was so proud of them. I said to my youngest, I said, ‘You know what? We did it.’ And he said, ‘Mom, we’re a family that weathered the storm,’”
she recalled.
The Role of Family in Choosing to Star in Nobody 2
Stone also shared that her decision to participate in Nobody 2 was influenced by her children’s enthusiasm for the first film. She mentioned to People magazine that her kids’ fondness for the original movie played a significant role.
“It really played an enormous part on why I did the film,”
she said.
“They flew in to see this because it’s their favorite movie.”
