Ongoing Development of Peele’s Fourth Film
Despite the setback, Peele continues to develop his follow-up to the 2022 movie Nope. As with his previous films, the new project is expected to be a horror thriller, although specific plot details remain confidential. Universal has not offered any comments regarding the change in schedule.
Changes in Release Timing and Studio Priorities
The project was originally slated for a December 2024 release but was later postponed to October 2026. However, Universal’s specialty division, Focus Features, took over that release window for Robert Eggers’ film Nosferatu, which achieved considerable success by grossing $181.7 million globally, ranking it among Focus Features’ highest-grossing titles.
