Aldis Hodge has been cast alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming sequel to Road House, continuing his partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. This new installment adds to the franchise’s legacy, with key production and returning stars involved.
The project is directed by Ilya Naishuller and scripted by Will Beall, with Dave Bautista and Leila George also joining the cast. The original Road House was rebooted in 2024, following the 1989 classic starring Patrick Swayze, making this the fourth film in the series. Gyllenhaal reprises his role as an ex-UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys road house.
Producing the sequel are Amazon MGM Studios alongside Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin representing Nine Stories Productions. The collaboration signals a strong continuation of the franchise’s revival in recent years.
Outside of this film, Hodge will lead the second season of the Amazon series Cross, set to stream next year. His upcoming screen appearances include roles in DC’s Black Adam, One Night in Miami, and Straight Outta Compton.
