Lacey Chabert Reveals Which Christmas Decor She Hides From Hubby

Actress Lacey Chabert, renowned for her Christmas roles on Hallmark Channel, transforms her Los Angeles home into a holiday wonderland as soon as Halloween ends. Married to David Nehdar since December 22, 2013, Chabert’s enthusiasm for Christmas decorations occasionally clashes with her husband’s preferences. During a September 30, 2025 episode of The Viall Files podcast, she shared that she hides some of her holiday decor from him to avoid his protests against the extravagance.

When asked if she owns multiple decorated Christmas trees, Chabert admitted,

I do. I have to hide them from my husband because he’s like, ‘Enough with the Christmas decorations!’

This did not stop her from ordering even more decorations recently, saying,

I may have ordered another one last week. I’m hoping to intercept the box before he sees it. I just love it. The more the better.

Launching a Personalized Line of Hallmark Christmas Decor

Chabert humorously acknowledged that her obsession with holiday decor aligns with her public image as the Hallmark Christmas queen, which carries certain expectations she feels compelled to meet at home. Despite the festivities, her husband often bears the brunt of the seasonal clean-up, as she revealed,

The poor thing, he has to help me pick it all up

after the celebrations.

Their home features several Christmas trees, each decorated according to a distinctive theme. Their nine-year-old daughter, Julia, enjoys decorating her own room freely, adding her personal touch to the holiday ambiance. Chabert is also famous for her elaborate Elf on the Shelf setups that add whimsy to the season.

Looking ahead, Chabert’s partnership with Hallmark will expand beyond acting, as she prepares to release a holiday decor collection in 2025. The product line remains under wraps, but she offered a glimpse by stating,

It’s a beautiful ornament set and things you can use for your holiday celebration — a tray, a tea towel, and mugs. And a card line and wrapping paper.

Podcast host Nick Viall expressed enthusiasm for the line, remarking,

I would absolutely buy your Christmas decorations,

followed by a playful comment,

I feel like it’s, like, Jesus, Santa, and Lacey — like, those are the people who know Christmas.

Chabert responded with laughter,

And that is the correct order!

An Intense Holiday Schedule Full of Festivities and Promotions

The final three months of 2025 are packed with events for Chabert, who balances her personal festive traditions alongside professional commitments. Recently in New York, she promoted the second season of her unscripted Hallmark show, Celebrations With Lacey Chabert, and her October 11 movie premiere, Haul Out the Halloween.

October also brings several Hallmark holiday events in Nashville. On October 15, she will appear at Amy’s Hallmark store in Franklin for a fan meet-and-greet, joining fellow stars such as Benjamin Ayres, B.J. Britt, and Ashley Williams. The following day, October 16, Chabert is scheduled for a free event at Opry Plaza featuring

festive photo ops, hot cocoa, cookies, Santa hats,

with other talent including Jonathan Bennett and Nikki DeLoach.

On October 17, Downtown Nashville will host another free gathering featuring a red carpet preview of the 2025 Hallmark Christmas movie lineup, line dancing, and musical performances. Chabert will also participate in the Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City during its second weekend, December 5 to 7. This event coincides with the premiere of her newest Hallmark Christmas film, She’s Making a List, co-starring Andrew Walker.

Lacey Chabert’s Personal Holiday Traditions and Family Celebrations

Despite her busy schedule, Chabert maintains cherished family customs during the holidays. In 2023, she told Better Homes & Gardens about hosting a large Christmas Eve dinner featuring Southern dishes passed down from her grandmother and great-grandmother, such as sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing, and macaroni and cheese. These traditions reflect her Georgia roots and the importance of family connection during the festive season.
