During a recent interview on BobaTalks, James Gunn shared that he has viewed the Lanterns project in its current form but lacks information on its marketing schedule. He explained his strong experience with film marketing and involvement with television show materials, yet admitted his unfamiliarity with TV release timing.
“I’ve seen the peek, I think, or at least where it is now but I have no clue when that’s planned to be shown. With HBO, my expertise so far as that goes, my knowledge of marketing is primarily based around films. I have a lot of experience going through the marketing of many films and seeing things that work, seeing things that don’t work, and I’m so involved in all that,”
James Gunn explained.
“I’m equally involved with the actual materials that you’re seeing for the television shows, but in terms of the scheduling, I’m not as knowledgeable as I am with film.”
Significance of John Stewart and Hal Jordan in the DC Universe
Although James Gunn cannot specify when the Lanterns teaser will arrive, he emphasized the importance of John Stewart and Hal Jordan within the DC Universe. Both characters are set to play major roles beyond the forthcoming series’ launch, mirroring Peacemaker’s continued relevance.
“They’re important characters, and so that by itself is important, without anything else, just like Peacemaker is an important character, still. And so there’s that, but there’s also other things that go far into the future in terms of what happens with that show.”
