Robert Eggers Wraps Filming on Chilling Werewolf Movie Werwulf

Robert Eggers has finished filming his upcoming horror movie, Werwulf, marking the end of production on the much-anticipated werewolf story. The project wrapped in the UK, where the cast and crew celebrated the milestone with a wrap party.

The movie stars English actor Ralph Ineson, who has worked previously with Eggers on The Witch and The Northman, alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe. Ineson confirmed the wrap on his social media, sharing a photo of the event with a cinema sign reading “WERWULF WRAP PARTY” and commenting, “That was fun #werwulf.”

A Dark Tale Set in 13th-Century England

Werwulf transports viewers to a remote village in 13th-century England, where the inhabitants face terror from a bloodthirsty mythical beast. This eerie backdrop fits within Eggers’ signature style of immersive, period horror storytelling.

The film brings together several actors who previously appeared in Eggers’ 2024 vampire movie Nosferatu, a remake of the classic 1922 German silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror. Depp, Taylor-Johnson, Dafoe, and Ineson all reunite for Werwulf, reinforcing the director’s ongoing collaborations with a trusted ensemble.

Introducing Young Talent Bodhi Rae Breathnach

Joining the cast is 14-year-old Bodhi Rae Breathnach, whose specific role remains undisclosed. Breathnach recently made her cinematic debut this year in Shelter, an action film featuring Jason Statham. Shelter follows Mason, a former assassin residing on a Scottish island, whose life becomes complicated after rescuing a teenage girl from the sea.

During Shelter’s UK premiere in Leicester Square, London, Bodhi described Statham as surprisingly gentle despite his tough screen image. She said,

“Jason is so sweet in real life. He’s nothing like the movies. He’s so sweet, so fun, so kind. He’s a big softie. He’s a sweetheart.”

Looking Ahead to Werwulf’s Release

Werwulf is scheduled for release in December 2026, building anticipation among horror fans eager to see Eggers’ latest vision. The film’s setting, star-studded cast, and eerie folklore premise underscore Eggers’ continuing appeal in crafting atmospheric, period-based horror.

Meanwhile, Bodhi Rae Breathnach’s rising career will continue to develop following Shelter’s arrival in cinemas from January 30. Her experiences on location in County Wicklow, Ireland, with Statham and the rest of the Shelter cast have been formative as she navigates the film industry at a young age.
