During the Deauville American Film Festival in France back in 2013, Coogler encountered Vince Gilligan in an elevator and learned about his significant role in the classic X-Files series. Several years later, Coogler reached out to Gilligan for guidance on reviving the show. He recounted receiving detailed advice during a Zoom meeting where Gilligan patiently answered all his questions.
