The Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, known as CPH:DOX, announced its 23rd edition running from March 11-22, 2026, featuring French actress Juliette Binoche’s directorial debut, In-I in Motion. Juliette Binoche CPH DOX will also welcome notable figures like HBO’s John Wilson and documentarian Louis Theroux, who will engage with audiences throughout the festival in Denmark’s capital.
Festival Themes Reflect Global Turmoil and Technological Change
Niklas Engstrøm, the festival’s artistic director, emphasized that CPH:DOX 2026 will showcase stories from volatile regions including the Arctic, Amazon, Gaza, Greenland, Kyiv, and the Kremlin. He explained how this edition merges urgent geopolitical reports with deep investigations into issues such as AI disruption, Big Tech influence, oligarchic power, the fight for freedom of expression, climate change, neurotechnology ethics, and the fragile condition of democracy.
The program is organized around two major themes: Right Here, Right Now focuses on human and civil rights amid contested freedoms, while Brain Waves examines consciousness, brain science, and the impact of technology on human experience.
