Millie Bobby Brown on Henry Cavill’s ‘Very Strict’ Boundaries

Millie Bobby Brown recently shared details about the professional boundaries Henry Cavill set while they collaborated on the Enola Holmes films, highlighting his “very strict” approach. The Stranger Things star, who is 22, and the 42-year-old Man of Steel actor appeared together in Netflix’s Enola Holmes (2020) and its sequel, with Cavill emphasizing a clear line between personal and professional interactions on set.

Contrast Between On-Set Relationships

In a 2022 interview with Deadline, Brown contrasted her connection with Cavill to the more casual, sibling-like dynamic she shares with her Stranger Things co-stars. Meeting Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton at the age of 10 created a bond that felt like friendship with schoolmates. In comparison, her relationship with Cavill carries a more mature and respectful tone.

“It’s different because I grew up with Noah [Schnapp] and Charlie [Heaton]. I met them when I was 10,”

Brown said.

“So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates. With Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship. Like a really good friendship, a really healthy one.”

Firm Boundaries Respectfully Maintained

Brown explained that Cavill maintained clear limits regarding personal topics, which she respected. She noted his humorous but firm instructions not to pry into his private life, creating a professional atmosphere during filming. This contrasted with her experiences on Stranger Things, where there are “no boundaries” because of their sibling-like closeness.

“I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me.

“I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, ‘Millie, shut up. No.’ And I’m like, ‘Understood.’ Whereas with the Stranger Things kids, it’s different.

There’s no boundaries because it’s like we’re all siblings. But with Henry, he’s very strict with me, which I appreciate.”

“Everyone on set knows Harry and his way and his spirit. The dedication to the film is unlike all of us put together. So yes, it does come down to performance, but it also very much comes down to directing and being able to have a connection with your director,”

she explained.

“It’s a dream come true. As for me, I learned many things, because I’m an upcoming young woman, and that is a real learning curve for me. This is a very big pivotal moment within my career and my life. This is the first role I’ve really led.”
