Elijah Wood is an American actor and producer whose career began in childhood and spans film, television, voice work, and music. Born January 28, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wood emerged as a prominent child actor during the 1990s with performances in Avalon, Forever Young, Radio Flyer, The Adventures of Huck Finn, and The Good Son before achieving international fame as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He later starred in films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City, and Happy Feet, and headlined the television series Wilfred on FX and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency on BBC America. Wood has earned two Saturn Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award, among other honors, and joined the cast of Yellowjackets in 2023.
