Dakota Mayi Johnson (born October 4, 1989) is an American actress whose career spans independent drama, mainstream romance, horror, and superhero films. She first gained international recognition as Anastasia “Ana” Steele in the erotic romantic drama Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) and went on to headline all three films in the Fifty Shades series between 2015 and 2018. In 2016, her work earned a nomination for the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA) Rising Star Award, and she was also recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list that same year.
