Favreau graduated from The Bronx High School of Science in 1984 and attended Queens College from 1984 to 1987, where he briefly pursued a degree before dropping out to follow his passion for acting. During his time in college, he was known for his skills in Hacky Sack, earning the nickname “Johnny Hack.” He eventually moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy, performing at various improvisational theaters.
